The Non-profit organization, Historic Kansas City celebrated their 40th Anniversary at The Guild in downtown Kansas City, MO. Since its founding in 1974, Historic Kansas City has been the only nonprofit organization in greater Kansas City dedicated to the preservation of buildings, promoting KC neighborhoods and revitalizing Kansas City.
Historic Kansas City kicked off their I’m A Preservationist Campaign where they honored 35 local Kansas Citians that make a difference in their community through art, fashion, food, preservation, etc. Portraits of each preservationist were hung around the room to provide an introspective look at how they make a difference.
The event hosted 275 people including many current and past board members, past presidents, sponsors, members and preservationists. A silent auction provided another way the organization to raise money at the event.
The night featured music by Groove Inc. and wonderful food stations that highlighted different areas of Kansas City. In addition, Boulevard Brewery provided local beers, The Roasterie provided Dizzy Three (coffee flavored vodka) and Amigoni Urban Winery provided wines.
