We are starting a new series of City Guides here on our blog. We wanted to start with a city that is near and dear to our hearts: Nashville. In case you didn’t know, one of our three offices is in this city and we couldn’t love it more. To us, Nashville has a small town feel in a big city. The people here are nicer than most and it really is a community unlike any other! Whether you plan on visiting soon, or if you’re just curious, we wanted to give you some of our favorite spots, places to stay, and things to do in Music City!
STAY
Conveniently located within steps of Nashville’s entertainment district, the Westin Nashville hotel provides outstanding guest service with a vibrant and energetic atmosphere. This hotel is also home to one of Nashville’s premiere rooftop pool bars, L27.
Located in the heart of Downtown Nashville the Omni has one of the best locations on 5th Avenue. It is directly across from the Music City Center and connected to the newly expanded Music City Hall of Fame. It also has two great on-property restaurants, the bar Barline and an incredible spa. Let’s not forget the rooftop pool overlooking downtown Nashville available to hotel and spa guests only.
With spectacular views of Downtown Nashville, this luxury boutique hotel is the place to be. While not in downtown it is still located in a great area for shopping and dining. The hotel restaurant, Marsh House, is a must try while staying at the one-of-a-kind property.
Sheraton Grand Nashville Downtown
With a recent $35 million renovation, this newly designed hotel, that towers 28 stories over Nashville, is one of our favorites. With modern design, natural light, and spacious guest rooms you will not be disappointed while staying here.
Known as Nashville’s ‘First Hotel’, Hermitage Hotel is also the only AAA Five-Diamond Hotel in the state of Tennessee. From personalized service to attentive staff, this hotel sets a new standard for luxury. With its impeccably preserved lobby, this oasis is one of Nashville’s most cherished landmarks.
RESTAURANTS
This restaurant is known for its fun atmosphere (live entertainment and live music) and mouth-watering southern comfort food and BBQ. It has a laid-back, at-home feeling that will leave you wanting to come back for more as soon as you leave.
This three-story building is one of our favorite places to hangout while in Nashville. Located on Lower Broadway, Acme Feed & Seed offers a Nashville atmosphere unlike any other. They have a fast-casual dining menu that is to die for and 28 different beers on tap. This is a must while in Nashville!
With a twist on comfort food, this restaurant is place to try when visiting Nashville. Not only is the food amazing, they have a wide variety of whiskey and adult beverages!
This industrial-chic restaurants is all about small plates. Even though they are small in size, this food is big in taste! Along with the amazing food, they have inventive cocktails that are so yummy it’s almost dangerous!
Brunch. Is. A. Must. Let us repeat… Brunch is a MUST at The Southern!! Not only does this restaurant have a really fun atmosphere, it also has an amazing menu whether you eat brunch, lunch, or dinner here. Try it all, we have!
BARS
Located on the rooftop of the Thompson Hotel (see above) this bar guarantees sweeping views of the city along with an intensive drink menu. There is a wide variety of creative cocktails, beers, and wines that will not disappoint accompanied by a delicious food menu and a large variety of seating options.
Mentioned earlier, this Westin rooftop bar features one of the cities most unique infinity pools and a skyline view of the city. This rooftop bar offers tasty sips and a Cosmopolitan nightlife feel.
Known as ‘a little bit of Texas and whole lotta Nashville’ this fun country bar is a place to get rowdy with all of your friends. With constant live entertainment you will be boot-scootin’ all night long on the dance floor! You also won’t be able to miss the legendary mural on the wall.
When you think of one bar in Nashville on Broadway we have a feeling this is what you might be thinking of. This world-famous honky-tonk is a Nashville classic and a must-see when visiting this city!
This upscale, speakeasy hangout attracts locals with its Gatsby feel. This 30-stool bar has vintage chandeliers, savvy bartenders and delicious craft cocktails that will leave you wanting more!
COFFEE SHOPS
Rumored to be Keith Urban’s favorite coffee shop in Nashville, Frothy Monkey does not disappoint with its creative and delicious coffee drinks. They also serve amazing food that is unmatched and a bar menu that is up to par with surrounding bars. If you need a pick-me-up, Frothy Monkey is the place to go!
This award-winning coffee shop sources all of its coffee beans from that they know and trust so you are always guaranteed a superb cup of joe. Each location has a really inviting atmosphere that makes it easy to work or even easier to relax!
SWEET TREATS
This bright ice cream parlors offers a variety of different homemade ice creams and coffee drinks.
GiGi’s Cupcakes has daily fresh, delicious cupcakes that are unmatched by any other!
With funky, fresh flavors Jeni’s Ice Cream is our favorite! They use local ingredients to make their ice cream even more delicious than we thought possible. Be prepared for a stomach ache of fullness after leaving Jeni’s.
ACTIVITIES
Live performances by some of the world’s very best song writers + a great atmosphere = one of the most fun stops in Nashville!
Before heading to Nashville check out the event schedule at The Ryman and see who is playing! You will not regret hearing live music in this beautiful, historic building. It is one of our favorite places to see a show!
This is a crowd-pleaser for all ages and a MUST when visiting Nashville!
This is a fun spot for everyone that includes history and fun! This plantation is 34-acres and is home to the original mansion and other various outbuildings. You can see the property via Segway or try one of their wine and food pairing tours as well!
The centerpiece of Centennial Park, one of Nashville’s premier parks, is a recreation of the Athenian original. It is also home to the 42-foot recreation of the Athena statue is the focus of the Parthenon, just like it was in Greece. Take a quick walk or bring a picnic and enjoy the view and history!
Experience Nashville like you never have before on Pedal Tavern’s party bike! There are multiple routes you can take to personalize your Nashville experience and see exactly what you want to see. This is a fun experience (for adults) that we highly suggest!
SHOPPING
The Gulch is one of our favorite areas in Nashville and offers some of the best shopping. We could spend hours here… oh wait, we have!!
Nordstrom people… Nordstrom!
There are too many cute boutiques here to handle! You better be working out those arm muscles before visiting these cute shops so you can carry all of your bags!
Nothing says Nashville to us like Reese Witherspoon’s store! The flagship location is located in Nashville and we LOVE it.
