We just returned from an amazing week at the Sage Valley Golf Club in Graniteville, South Carolina. Just 12 miles from the more widely known, Augusta National, this top course and surrounding properties proved to hold its own. Our group participated in a 2-day golf tournament on this gorgeous property and even had the opportunity to spend time with PGA’s Peter Jacobsen and Charles Howell III.
Not only is the property itself breathtaking, but so is the food! From the first night’s cookout on the Gibbs patio to the final dinner in the 6,000 square foot log cabin lodge in the heart of the expansive property, one could not be disappointed….or hungry! The size of a slice of cake alone could easily feed 6 people.
As if the event could get any better, the accommodations were perfect! Located throughout the property were cottages for the guests to reside. Each cottage is beautifully appointed and fully stocked with an enormous stone fireplace to enjoy. Being on property together made for a great group event where every activity was only a golf cart ride away.
Last, but not least, the staff at Sage Valley are what made this week a winner. Each person we encountered was ready to help and provide us with whatever we needed without hesitation. Like the founder, Weldon Wyatt, said “We want you to say ‘Wow!’ when you come in the gate—but it’s more important to say ‘Wow!’ when you go out the gate”. And did we ever!
