Here at Moxi Events we love new places, meeting new people, and trying new things! We think that Barcelona is the PERFECT city for that! We are loving this city so much right now that we wanted to share with you a few of our favorite things about it.
Places to Stay:
Hotel Arts Barcelona:
We have heard amazing things about Hotel Arts Barcelona. So amazing in fact, that we are heading there in a few weeks to check it out ourselves! Stay tuned for more pictures/updates about the amazing property.
Places to See:
La Sagrada Familia
Seeing the La Sagrada Familia is an absolute must while in this beautiful city. Started in 1882, this towering Gothic-style-with-a-twist church is still unfinished standing at 558 feet high. Whether you enjoy architecture, history, or just the atmosphere itself, we promise this will not disappoint. We can easily say it is one of the most amazing, wow-factor places we have ever seen!
Barri Gotic
Barri Gotic, or Gothic Corner, is another area we suggest as a must see. You will see one of the oldest parts of the city while be emerged in the culture. There are traditional eats on every corner and you can even walk through the museums and buildings with a large glass of Sangria. Why wouldn’t you spend some time here?
Mercat de la Boqueria
This beautiful market has been chosen time and time again as one of the best markets in the world. It is located in Las Ramblas, which is known to be one of the most exciting, busy neighborhoods in Barcelona. Along with it just being a thing of beauty, this market is known to have some of the best breakfasts in the city. Go grab a bite to eat and miss the crowds that will come later in the day! It is also super close to the Gothic Quarter so you can hit two birds with one stone. This is something for sure you will want to mark off your list.
Camp Nou
Whether you are a soccer fan or not, seeing this stadium is a must while in Barcelona! This city loves their team more than most, so being in this atmosphere is one-of-a-kind. This team is legendary and seeing the stadium they play in is a ton of fun! They also have super-cute FC Barcelona merchandise as well that will make you feel a little bit more like a local 😉
Beaches
Barceloneta Beach:
This huge beach is nearly a mile long and is best known for being the tourist go-to spot! Here you will find outdoor cafes, bike rentals, and great people watching.
Bogatell Beach
This is the beach where you will find all of the locals. Considered to be more of an older crowd, it is a lot less packed that Barceloneta Beach and equally as beautiful.
Castelldefels
A little bit out of town (20 minutes by train) this beach is best for activity lovers. They have a wide option of things to do like kite-surfing, wind-surfing and the water is much better for swimming.
Nova Icaria
This is known to be the most family-friendly beach in Barcelona. It offers a lot of fun beach activities and really great outdoor places to get delicious local food!
We LOVE this city and everything about it! We love their culture and can’t wait to get back in a few weeks for delicious paella, a refreshing sangria, and a chance to meet new people and make new memories. Make sure to be on the look-out for and update of how our upcoming Barcelona trip goes!
