We had the opportunity to help host an out of this world 40th Birthday Bash. This was a private event for approximately 100 people to help celebrate a businessman’s 40th ‘surprise’ birthday. The party was held at the Arvest Bank Theatre at The Midland. We created this evening to be all about surprises with something new and exciting happening throughout the entire duration of the event.
Four custom built ‘mini stages’ were strategically located throughout the treater space. Various acts would be revealed during different times of the night. Some of the acts included: Palm readers, a Fortune Teller, Contortionists, and Atmospheric Dancers. National comedians, John Heffron and Nate Bargatze, were flown in for private performances as well. Our goal with the different performances was to create a whimsical world where no one knew what would happen next.
Almost everyone’s favorite part of any event is the food. There were interactive food stations scattered around the theater and strategically placed to create a natural flow for guests to explore the historic theatre. Every food station had unique décor and glowing effects. These stations consisted of seafood stations, small plates, and our favorite… the Cobb Salad Martini Station. Martini glasses were strung from a rack with custom lighting from beneath to add to the ambiance. Attendants then created custom salads for each guest, mixed it in martini shakers, and then served them in the martini glasses. This was a total hit! For those with a sweet tooth adult milkshakes and Flambe Donut holes were offered throughout the night as well.
A mixologists created two custom signature cocktails based on the birthday boy’s favorites:
Custom details like that were found all throughout the entire night. As guest entered the historic lobby, a signature ‘40’ was custom built with gold accents and custom up lighting. They were also greeted with wait staff using a classy twist to the old fashioned ‘cigarette style’ trays with bite sized appetizer and cocktails. Lounge furniture was brought in to create various vignettes of seating options. Two event logos were created and included on custom throw pillows, table clings, glowing towers, and napkins. Any detail that could be customized – was!
America’s Best Dance Band, Liquid Blue, was revealed to the guests for the grand finale. As the band was introduced the stage curtain was lifted to reveal a custom LED lighted curtain with custom 10’ 40 numbers hanging as the backdrop. As well as the band, a late night snack station was brought out toward the end of the evening. This snack station was amazing! It consisted of a ‘tator tot bar’ where guests could ‘load’ their plate with unique toppings.
This 40th Birthday Bash was one for the books! The event went perfect. It truly was an unforgettable evening!
